A large, spotless whiteboard mounted on a pale gray wall, covered with neatly written math formulas, geometric diagrams, and a clearly labeled coordinate plane in blue, black, and green marker. A slim metal tray at the bottom holds perfectly aligned markers and a fresh white eraser. Below the whiteboard, a modern white cabinet with closed doors maintains a clutter-free look. Bright but soft overhead lighting evenly illuminates the board, creating crisp, legible lines and faint reflections on the glossy surface. Photographic realism, captured straight-on with symmetrical composition and sharp focus from edge to edge. The mood is organized, serious, and professional, conveying a dedicated math tutoring environment where concepts are presented clearly and methodically.

Foundations-focused help with elementary math, number sense, homework support, and building lasting confidence

An elegant close-up of a scientific calculator with a dark matte body and softly glowing display, resting on a smooth white desk beside a neatly stacked set of graph paper and a clear acrylic ruler. The calculator buttons—shades of charcoal, slate, and soft teal—appear clean and unworn, emphasizing precision and reliability. Diffused afternoon light from a nearby window washes across the scene, creating subtle highlights on the calculator edges and gentle shadows beneath. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with a shallow depth of field, keeping the calculator in tack-sharp focus while the graph paper grid fades softly into the background. The mood is calm, methodical, and professional, perfect for illustrating focused math problem-solving in a tutoring context.

Targeted middle and high school support in pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry with clear, step-by-step explanations

A tidy, modern tutoring space with a single rectangular white table centered in the frame, topped with color-coded math worksheets, a closed navy-blue binder labeled “Algebra & Calculus,” and a transparent cup filled with sharpened pencils. Behind the table, a tall white bookshelf holds neatly arranged math textbooks and labeled folders in orderly rows. Cool, even natural light streams in from a large unseen window on the right, casting soft, elongated shadows that emphasize the room’s clean lines. Photographic realism, captured at eye level with a wide-angle lens to show the entire room in sharp focus. The atmosphere is professional, inviting, and highly organized, portraying an ideal environment for serious, distraction-free math tutoring sessions without any human presence.

SAT, ACT, and end-of-course exam preparation with practice tests, timing strategies, and focused skill review

A detailed view of a crisp sheet of graph paper filled with a carefully drawn parabola, labeled axes, and a few highlighted solution points, all marked with precise blue and black ink. A fine-tip pen lies diagonally across the lower corner of the page, and a small, transparent plastic triangle rests near the top edge. The page sits on a smooth, dark walnut desk that contrasts with the bright white paper. Soft overhead lighting combined with a hint of natural side light creates a balanced, shadow-free view of the math work. Photographic realism, captured from directly above like a flat lay, with sharp focus on every line and grid square. The mood is studious, meticulous, and professional, ideal for showcasing the clarity and structure of Yani’s math tutoring approach.

About Your Tutor

Hi, I’m Yani Sanchez, a certified Mathematics Education (Grades 6–12) teacher and experienced tutor. I have been teaching high school Algebra and tutoring in various areas of mathematics for the past two years. I have worked with students in a wide range of math subjects, from elementary math through college-level courses.

My tutoring experience includes Elementary Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, College Algebra, Advanced Mathematics, and more. As a bilingual educator fluent in both English and Spanish, I am able to support students from diverse backgrounds and help them feel confident in their learning.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age, and although I discovered tutoring by chance, it quickly became one of my greatest passions. I love helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and realize that they are capable of success in math. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to empower students to believe in themselves and their abilities.

Reviews

“My son was hesitant about getting a tutor. He is in middle school advance math and often needs more explanation of the steps required to complete the problems. Mrs. Sanchez is patient, kind, and willing to help him until he understands the concepts. My son actually looks forward to his sessions with her. He walks away more confident and less anxious. His math grade has improved since working with Mrs. Sanchez. I highly recommend her to anyone that has a child struggling in math.”

“Yani is wonderful and makes a remarkable difference with her approach. She has been tutoring my daughter in advanced middle school math for 2 years. She has made such an impact and difference in my kiddo’s confidence most importantly, but also her achievement of A’s despite a challenging curriculum. We are most grateful for the confidence Yani instills because that’s the most important skill—grades are very much secondary. Our daughter is a capable kid, but the extra guidance, practice on key topics, and investment in really understanding the material has made such a difference. Our daughter doesn’t want to take a test until she’s had time with Yani”
